The book really comes to life from the fourth chapter onwards where the authors brought out some really amazing stories through people. I loved reading stories of many friends in the book but beyond that, the authors have done an amazing job of capturing the average Bangalore life, the people, their aspirations, fears and motivations that drive them. The chapter on entrepreneur couples was moving and subsequent chapters had the pulse of the city just right.
Loved how Malini has studied Bangalore’s various facets and brought out many forgotten parts.
Loved the part about how Bangalore, despite all its shortcomings on infrastructure, remains a place where good people come to do good work - and are valued for the work they do. Not their wealth or status.
Must read even if you are not from Bangalore!
Just finished reading 'Unboxing Bengaluru'. This is a superbly compiled book (2 years in the making) about the people and institutions that have shaped the growth of the city and what it is today.
Several interesting anecdotes and vignettes make this book stand out.
Highly recommendable book!
